Respite Care Away from Home

Our respite care and short term accommodation services are designed to cater to adults of all backgrounds, ages, and support needs, ensuring that everyone benefits from a memorable experience during their short stay. The short term accommodation options are fully supervised by our dedicated staff 24/7 to provide any necessary assistance or support. Our respite accommodation options are designed with safety in mind and provide comfortable and enjoyable environments. They are equipped with various accessibility features and have spacious living areas allowing you the enjoy independent living at its finest.

Respite Care in your Home

Our in-home respite services may last from a few hours to overnight stays. This popular respite choice allows your carer to leave the home, and leave you in a fun and caring environment. Our support workers will fill caring role at your own home continuing your daily routine and daily living core supports. Our carer will also organise a variety of fun activities throughout the day to keep you engaged and entertained. This is an opportunity for you to discover and explore new hobbies or passions that you may enjoy.

Retreat and Hotel Respite

Enjoy a proper break with our retreats tailored for your needs. Travelling can be a terrific opportunity for NDIS members to attain their goals. The NDIS is all about giving people with disabilities greater options and control over their life. Travel can help people gain confidence, independence, and social relationships. NDIS funding may thus be able to be used to finance services offered on a trip with us. Everyone is evaluated differently, and there are no guarantees, so defining the correct targets on your plan is critical.

Our team will sit down with you, outline the goals and milestones you and your support team want to achieve, create a plan of action in line with your respite wants and needs.

Our informal supports are tailored to your specific support needs, and can include fun and relaxing activities during your short break, like learn skills, day trips to hotel style facilities, group fitness activities, cooking classes, art therapy sessions and community participation. In this short time, you may like to benefit from trying new things, learning new skills and making new friends.

This respite service is aimed to provide individual support for those with serious health issues, high support and your support needs. Yes! We welcome all who play a role in assisting with your healthcare and well-being! We actually encourage everyone to participate in some of the activities we offer as we believe in ‘Walking the walk’.

We have support workers & Coordinators from all different cultures and backgrounds to ensure you are comfortable with the person assisting you! If you have any specific requirements please let us know and we will go above and beyond to ensure we find someone best suited to your needs!

Here at Nursed, we pride ourselves in striving to accommodate for all! We offer numerous activities such as: Outdoor cinemas, museums, a weekend away on a lakeside campsite and Day trips in our fully equipped transport van to name a few! We ensure that there are all required medical and support staff present at all times to provide any medical care, and provide assistance with social and community participation activities!

Our fully accessible short term accommodation and short term respite options means you can enjoy supported independent living and the assistance you need at our place. This short term stay service is available to adults and can range from a few days up to a month (28 days).

Frequently Asked Questions

Let’s face it, primary caregivers need and deserve a break every so often. Respite care provides crucial temporary relief to disabled individuals and their caregivers, serving as a short-term solution when the primary caregiver requires a break or is temporarily unavailable. Eligible participants may receive funding by the NDIS to cover paid in-home or center-based services, participation in community groups and/or receive temporary additional personal support to remain at home.

Yes, the NDIS usually fund up to 28 days of Short Term Accommodation per year. You can use your Short Term Accommodation funding flexibly. For example, you might want to use it in a block of up to 14 days at a time or for one weekend a month. Check your NDIS plan to see if you have funding for short term accommodation. Please note that generally funding is for a group price, meaning you may share supports with other people, unless there is evidence you require individual support because of your disability. You may also have funding in your Core budget, which can be used for Short Term Accommodation.

If short term accommodation is not suitable for your needs, and you need assistance with short term out of home care give us a call, and we can discuss your situation with your Support Coordinator, Local Area Coordinator, Early Childhood Partner or planner. NDIS may fund other supports if you need longer term accommodation support like Medium Term Accommodation (MTA).

The NDIS pricing guidelines set out pricing limits and arrangements that apply to all NDIS-eligible services. Short Term Accommodation and Assistance (including the provision of respite care)

We offer respite stays for anything from a couple of days, right up to a few weeks. Most of our clients access short-term respite for around 14 days at a time.
